Movie Together is a social platform that can let friends get together to watch movies online. The host can open a virtual room and invite people in. During movie-going, people can text, face chat, add funny animation, to increase the interaction. Through the research, I realize the value of movie theater is not limited to the material, the communal experience, and social life are the reasons movie theaters will never be replaced by streaming services. Meanwhile, the pandemic forced movie theater to change. Shifting the current mortar-n-brick theaters to online may help them fit in the pandemic situation and keep revenue.
