Through my research, I have found that many children with Autism have trouble focusing while trying to participate in sports. Tactile objects can be used to help children with Autism with their sensory development. Feelz is a pack of sensory disks that can be worn on a users hand in order to help improve focus and decrease distractions while playing sports. Every material in this pack is designed to produce different tactile sensations when touched. This product will help children with Autism focus, overcome sensory sensitivities and soothe anxiety, especially when playing sports in an overwhelming and loud gymnasium. Children will be able to pick and choose which sensory disk they would like to wear in order to help them achieve a higher level of concentration. Materials would include rubber, felt, velvet, and many others. Materials can also be customized to incorporate multiple materials into one disk. The disks are also thin enough so that they will not interfere with the child’s ability to participate in sports.
