According to some studies being in contact with nature since your childhood can impact your personality, imagination, and creative skills in adulthood. What if you could be in contact with all the ecosystems in the world without leaving your house or school? Kids around the world could learn in an immersive experience about issues about ecology, biology, etc.

Can a virtual experience substitute the real one?

Being in nature is totally different than seeing an image or video even in an “immersive experience”

It could be a nice learning tool but it doesn’t replace the real factor that the studies talk about: being present in nature, touching it, feeling it, smelling it, and interacting in a healthy and respectful way with it.

If nature itself has all those positive impacts on our cognition what are the real impacts vr would have on children’s cognition in this situation?
