Summary: Ecostruxture is a concept I was introduced to this summer. Basically, Schneider put sensors all over their equipment and then uses several layers of analytics to understand the data. They can predict how the system should look at different points in time and can recognize when the data looks different. From there, they can determine when maintenance is necessary or if there is something wrong, they can know what went wrong, where, when, and possibly why. I think this is very interesting because it is a less invasive way to monitor a system, or person 24/7. It also points out that when there is enough data, you can almost predict the future, and potentially avoid catastrophe.
