“First used in military fighter jets, the head-up display (HUD) falls somewhere between a tech feature and a safety feature. The device reduces dangerous distractions by displaying key information, such as a car’s speed and navigation directions, directly in the driver’s line of sight. Some systems project information onto the windshield; others project it on a separate screen.”

My Take: As seen here, the information that we are accustomed to looking down on our dashboards for, can instead be projected onto our windshields. With that placement, drivers will rarely have to take their eyes off of the road. However, this solution is not commonly incorporated into driver’s cars. I see this as an opportunity to better implement projected data with improved placement. Also, if this tech could be combined with touch features, it could be an extremely useful HUD.
