Design Conjecture: The Wright Flyer

Inspired by the Wright brother’s plane, the table and chairs in the space are similar to the wings and seat of the Wright Flyer plane. It is a nod to the history of the location and the significance of this plot of land. The chair itself mimics the seat on the plane in both shape and structure. The legs of the table and char are similar to the supports between the top and bottom wing on the Wright brother’s plane.

This seating instillation would be great for multiple people to get together as well as one person working alone. Each table would have an attachment on the bottom edge so multiple tables could fit together. This would give the users more flexibility in how they work about the area.

These seating pieces tie into the location and the National Aviation Heritage Alliance because there is so much history behind the lot. It is a great space for people to come and work when are not quite comfortable with being enclosed in a space with coworkers or strangers. This design is just a concept and would need adjusting in the future, but I believe that it is a start of a great idea.
