Analysis: I was inspired by Chris Milk’s visual presentation on virtual reality and how VR can be used to express oneself and the thoughts and ideas we are conscious of. The projects and processes he has created through VR demonstrate its ability to include people in unique experiences they might not normally be able to in the real world. He explains that in VR your consciousness is your medium; your consciousness is what you make of your virtual reality experience. VR makes you feel like you are a part of something big, bigger than yourself – you are a part of human history. I think virtual reality and its artistic expression could be used to allow customers to better express themselves in virtual banking. They could use it to personalize their ideal experience and interact with others while in the comfort of their own home. It could create an exciting balance between the virtual and physical world of banking, and I am excited to further explore this opportunity.
