Grocery Pickup Robot (Foodi)

For this section, my conjecture concept is called Foodi. Which would be a grocery store-branded robot that comes out and puts your groceries in your car for you. You could select (when ordering) where you would like the groceries to be placed and Foodi would be able to use sensors to place them in the correct location without scraping the car or knocking over anything else in the car. Instead of choosing where you park after ordering, you would be designated to a spot depending on how many groceries you have and what size of a Foodi you would need. And since it is machinery, it would lift one burden of heavy lifting and would be able to keep groceries cool if it included sensitive items like milk.
One reason why this may not be a good idea is because it would be another robot replacing a person’s current job, which was a primary focus/fear of one of the articles I selected for this section “How AI Technology Will Transform Design”. It also might be too costly at the moment if pick delivery is not popular enough to outweigh the costs needed to develop this technology. It may also discourage some people if they have concerns about it loading without causing damage to their car or if the person prefers face-to-face interactions (despite how short they may be).
