What if grocery stores aren’t permanent? Why does the customer have to travel to the store? Can the store travel to the customer?
If the semi-truck that is already hauling groceries to the store has scheduled stops at local communities, this would reduce the amount of individual trips taken to the grocery store. This would also allow for single-use plastic bags to become obsolete. If the groceries don’t need to travel from the store to the car to your house, the need for plastic bags will drastically decrease. This addresses sustainability which is the basis of multiple articles I read in this section. Convenience is an important part for this to be successful. Sustainability is important as the advancement of technology continues.
This wouldn’t work because the logistics of having a semi truck visiting individual communities seems far fetched. Would is really be better for the environment? There are a lot of questions that would need answered before deciding if a concept such as this could be successful.
