Netflix’s latest reality show, Resurrected Rides, presents viewers with an enchanting view of the world of car restoration, integrating creativity with technical expertise. Hosted by comedian Chris Redd, the show features a team of skilled car specialists who breathe new life into one’s beloved aging vehicle.

The series features a diverse group of automotive experts. The Valencia brothers, Saul and Oscar, lead the charge on modifications, both the body and interior of the car. Shayna Guy brings her talents as an automotive painter to the team. Mechanic Lacey Blair adds her flair for “Texas-sized” creations, and Don Abenante, along with Steven Nelson, contributes expertise in metal fabrication and tech gadgetry (Scheer-Erb, 2024).

In the first episode, the team transforms a stunt performer’s dilapidated van into a ninja turtle-inspired ride—a nod to the owner’s favorite comic series. The van’s makeover includes features such as a pop-top camper, a sectional couch, swivel seats, and a projector system that can be used both inside and outside the vehicle.

Despite the tight 10-day deadline, each team member has to understand their tasks clearly and often collaborate and help each other out. Just seeing these experts unleash their creativity and knowledge while also fulfilling others’ dreams is not only impressive but also inspiring.

In the context of electronic vehicles’ front trunks, Resurrect Rides showcased many ways of repurposing and redesigning spaces in the vehicle; this could serve as a valuable inspiration for people to think about how to maximize the opportunities in the frunk space.
