Yes, this skit takes things pretty far out of proportions. But, it brings up an important issue! Customer service can be incredibly inconvenient. And it’s not always on the employee side. Sometimes the employees don’t have the clearance to do what you need them to, and you spend hours on hold just to be able to reach someone who does. It’s often not a pretty process. And talking to a robot does not make anything easier. Sometimes, it makes things harder! Companies have to work to ensure their customers that they’re more than a number to them, and that’s often really, really hard if you have millions of customers. How can companies ensure quality service to cover so many people who are calling from all sorts of different countries and time zones? How can they make their customers feel seen and appreciated? There’s a lot to consider here!
