Combining what I learned from my arts section articles, I developed a conjecture that is designed as a memorial art sculpture to farmers and agricultural workers. This sculpture features a human figure in jeans, a hat, and work boots, and he stands at the top of an overhang. The figure is infused with terraform moss and seedling. I wanted it to appear elegant and natural so I designed the environment around it to flow into the sculpture. I also incorporated the Greek columns as a symbol of strength and tradition. I imagine a plaque would be placed somewhere to describe the dedication.
If I were to change this design, I would add a female farmer as well. I think it would be cool to include animals, crops, and technological advancements that agriculture have accomplished to show that agriculture is not outdated and is a very interesting and complex field, yet welcoming to all.
This conjecture, flawed though it may be, has helped me to formulate new ideas about how I might want my final project to appear visually. I have hopes that whatever solution I create in my final project, it may serve a purpose beyond simply art. Regardless, this first attempt helped me to further iterate and problem-solve.
