The concept of an AI suit is intended to treat the client’s assistance technology as an extension of their body. The suit would not transfer the data to a third party, but would rather be able to help the client with daily functions and know when to call for help. One major problem when introducing technology and third parties into someone’s home, and especially regarding healthcare, is the misuse of information. This technology monitors the client on its own without a human in control behind the scene, which helps to keep the client in control of their own healthcare.
This type of technology asks the question of where is the line when it comes to integrating technology so close to a client’s sense of self. Would this type of technology make a client feel more or less in control of themselves? Does technology give the autonomy back to the client, or take away the human aspects of care provided by a third party?
