While freeing up time for work/socializing while in motion, these improvements come with more accessibility to the public, from increased use in vehicles from multiple owners and increased transportation methods for people with disabilities, phobias, and just the general preference of not driving. This also brings a chance for increased media consumption and monopolizing on car software that people can buy to “not see” ads while they are in transit. The future of automotive legislation is blurry with these new features.
The reference to increased productivity will be an extra societal pressure to continuously work, as the time driven to work is often not counted, but with future improvements, the new expectation might be to do so.
