The “Glowing Mushrooms” bring a whimsical aura to the area. These would be semi translucent mushrooms statues that would be situated in the ground. The sizes and shapes would vary, as well as the color. They would shift their hue over time creating visual interest in the dark landscape of the night. Keeping some kind of interest availble allows our minds to remain active and aware of potential threats.
At the same time, the colors and surreal experience of large mushrooms give off a playful vibe. Bringing back a childlike, carefree mentality, the walk at night might feel more safe, reducing the initial fear of walking alone.
The glow from the fixtures would be soft, but bright enough to adequately illuminate the surroundings without casting harsh shadows, but not so bright that the light is blinding.
