Several international agreements documenting this right include the \u201cConvention on the Elimination of All Forms of violence against Women (CEDAW), the convention on the rights of the child (CRC), the International 14 Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) and the ICPD programme on action ( IPPF European Network, 2007:16)\u201d. This is an indication that the provision of information on sexual reproductive health to young people has been advocated for as a core element in issues of population growth and development at the international and national levels with an effort to prevent ill health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHS) is a human right recognized by UN:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The right to sexual freedom.<\/li><li>The right to sexual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Autonomy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">autonomy<\/a>, sexual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Integrity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">integrity<\/a>, and safety of the sexual body.<\/li><li>The right to sexual privacy.<\/li><li>The right to sexual equity.<\/li><li>The right to sexual pleasure.<\/li><li>The right to emotional sexual expression.<\/li><li>The right to sexually associate freely.<\/li><li>The right to make free and responsible&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reproductive_health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reproductive<\/a>&nbsp;choices.<\/li><li>The right to sexual information based upon scientific inquiry.<\/li><li>The right to comprehensive sexuality education.<\/li><li>The right to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sexual_health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sexual health<\/a>&nbsp;care.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall Obstacles to Sexual Health:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Religious and traditional beliefs.<\/li><li>Lack of sexual and reproductive resources and information.<\/li><li>Stigmas (Taboos) around sex, pleasure, and identity.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a non-Western centric approach, this map explores comprehensive sexual education initiatives across the globe. Additionally, this resource touched on parts of the world that were not covered in the Europe and Central Asia report. This resource is relevant to the topic because it offers a summary of contextual history for the different regions along with local organizations that are trying to address sex education.
