Meet Me Mural by Jenny Feng<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Meet Me Mural is a digital mural that displays community illustrated portraits of bus operators. The purpose of this art piece is to allow passengers to get to know bus drivers (not their identity) and their profession all while displaying the bus information, such as the bus schedule, approximate arrival, and fare. Text like \u201cgreet your bus driver,\u201d \u201chave your ticket\/money ready,\u201d \u201cshow your appreciation,\u201d run across the screen as reminders for passengers. This is implemented to promote a positive environment and interaction between the bus operator and the passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bus drivers run on a tight schedule and being late cuts into their break time. We have to be cognizant of the bus driver\u2019s needs and be understanding if they are running late or arrive early and are waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bus drivers often experience verbal and physical abuse while on the job. Meet Me Mural hopes to remind people that bus drivers are also human and a resource to rely on and be thankful for. Bus drivers also wait at bus stops as they are changing shifts. This mural will show them that they are valued as illustrations of them by the community are shown on the screen.
