What was once confined to handbag charms and vintage clothing is now being expressed through couches and cabinetry. Interior designers and makers are involving luxury clients in the creation of custom furniture pieces that not only help them furnish their homes but put them in the driver\u2019s seat from a creative perspective, too (Agnew, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Millennials and value alignment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the 2020 Consumer Culture Report by public relations agency 5WPR, 83 per cent of millennials want companies to align with their values, an attitude of individuality that translates to purchases that maximize personal aesthetic expression (Agnew, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits of custom furniture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Albanese says there are plenty of benefits to creating custom furniture for your home, from maximizing space to creating hyper-functional quarters. &#8216;While clients\u2019 needs are met, they are also completely harmonious with the rest of the room,&#8217; she says of custom designs. &#8216;It offers peace of mind that their space is tailored to making improvements to their lifestyle and facilitates increased functionality (Agnew, 2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This article interested me because of the topic of customization. Although car manufacturing is a very standardized process, I would like to explore the opportunities for customizable pieces to come with the car. After reading this article, I learned that custom furniture not only maximizes space and functionality but also fulfills the client&#8217;s emotional satisfaction. It offers a meaningful connection for the customer and their home. This is a very valuable insight because practical needs are easier to meet, but emotional and spiritual pleasures are more complex and vague.
