When the grocery delivery company stopped taking back its bags during the pandemic, some people used their stashes to make purses, journals and works of art<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As her leather supply depleted in 2020, Ms. Parker started to experiment with a medium that by then had become more plentiful at her Queens apartment: the colorful plastic totes used to deliver groceries from FreshDirect, which feature the company\u2019s logo surrounded by produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Parker began by slicing the FreshDirect bags into pieces. As a seamstress myself I find it interesting when I see people create fashion from non traditional materials, additionally it\u2019s interesting way to combat material waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
