This program children the opportunity to become innovators through teamwork and immersive, hands-on creative problem-solving. Local educators facilitate program modules and enthusiastic high school and college students serve as Leadership Interns, ensuring that one staff member is in place for every eight children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2019 program, Supercharged\u2122, encourages campers to take on four exciting challenges, meet innovative superheroes, and bring home newfound confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" src=\"https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Camp-Invention-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1450\" data-link=\"https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/?attachment_id=1450\" class=\"wp-image-1450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Camp-Invention-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Camp-Invention-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Camp-Invention-1-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Camp-Invention-1-696x465.jpg 696w, https:\/\/desis.osu.edu\/seniorthesis\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Camp-Invention-1-629x420.jpg 629w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>Camp Invention, 2018, Toledo, Toledo Christian School<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Innovation Force<\/strong>\u00ae \u2013&nbsp;Children team up with the Innovation Force, a group of NIHF Inductees who have been transformed into superheroes, to battle the evil Plagiarizer, a supervillain who is out to steal the world\u2019s ideas. As children create a device to retrieve the stolen ideas, they learn about the importance of collaboration and patents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deep Sea Mystery<\/strong>\u2122 \u2013&nbsp;Children embark on a research adventure at sea, but soon find themselves stranded on an island. Using lessons and advice from NIHF Inductees, children work in teams to invent island-survival tools and underwater equipment and navigate their way back home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Farm Tech\u2122 \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Children manage their own farm as they learn the basics of running a business. Campers learn fundamental coding techniques to maximize their time and profits and perform mock DNA experiments to check the health of their cattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DIY Orbot\u2122 \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>Children explore frequency, circuit boards, motors and gears as they reverse engineer a remote-controlled DIY Orbot.
