In this article, we\u2019ll look back on the history of augmented reality to better understand its potential future impact<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing that caught my attention in this brief history of AR is that the sports industry has been using AR since 1998. It is my understanding that when AR was invented, it was mainly used in the lab, until its real-world application for <strong>training<\/strong> purposes in the US Air Force. It is important for me to know AR&#8217;s history and what it was initially created for.
